Shadow housing minister, Jack Dromey, has accused the coalition of a ‘disastrous' house-building policy, after figures quietly released by Whitehall this week showed 99% falls in the number of affordable and social homes built over the past six months.

Ministers published their long-awaited housing strategy on 21 November, designed to kick-start house-building and heavily reliant on extending the controversial right-to-buy scheme.
