London Mayor, Boris Johnson, has given the green light to a £1.5bn scheme to re-generate the Heygate Estate in Elephant & Castle in line with proposals submitted by Southwark LBC.
Under proposals, the 23-acre site will be demolished and redeveloped to deliver up to 2,469 new homes, shops, offices and community facilities including a park.
