Buildings for Business, the joint venture between One NorthEast and UK Land Estates, has been given planning permission for redevelopment of the former Dunlop site in Team Valley. The Queens Court scheme will offer ten mixed-use service and office units from 3,308sqft up to 4,398sqft and five large industrial units from 14,673sqft up to 18,393sqft. Work is expected to begin on site during the summer, with completion expected by spring next year with chartered surveyors Naylors and Knight Frank are acting joint agents for Queens Court Michael Spriggs, managing director of UK Land Estates said: "This is great news for the region, with the potential to create over 200 jobs and bring further success to the internationally recognised Team Valley." Bill Naylor, managing director of Naylors, said: "We have been looking forward to the commencement of the scheme for well over a year. Unfortunately this was delayed by the Highways Agency's concerns in relation to traffic congestion on the A1." Knight Frank's Mark Proudlock welcomed the development, and said: "With occupiers waiting, it is very pleasing to see that the project is now underway. "The mixed use service and office units have proved very successful in the region and we anticipate a huge amount of interest in those to be built on Team Valley, which is still considered to be one of the region's premier business locations."
