The Audit Commission has praised how Greenwich LBC is handling its finances. The commission's annual audit letter reports that the council's finances are ‘improving well', and are ‘in line with local priorities'. The council is described as having ‘strong arrangements in place for budget setting'. ‘Our successful and prudent handling of our public finances is recognised in this fully-independent report, which is positive about the council's abilities to manage its finances, both currently and into the future,' said council leader, Chris Roberts.
