Preferred bidder status has been given to May Gurney on a £126m waste-collection service by Cheshire West and Chester Council, replacing three services the unitary authority inherited from former district councils.

Preferred bidder status has been given to May Gurney on a £126m waste-collection service by Cheshire West and Chester Council, replacing three services the unitary authority inherited from former district councils.

The procurement objectives were to combine collection arrangements across the new unitary borough, while maximising recycling, minimising carbon emissions, and reducing annual costs by at least £1.6m, or 15%.
