Hackney opens five new youth club

Hackney LBC has opened five youth clubs, giving young people access to a range of activities.

Hackney LBC has opened five youth clubs, giving young people access to a range of activities, including sports, media, arts and drama, cooking and life-skills.

Developed at a cost of around £6.5m, the Young Hackney centres, dotted across the borough, were designed by local youth, and each have their own special focus. Cllr Rita Krishna, Hackney's cabinet member for children's services, said: ‘Investing in our young people is a priority for Hackney so I'm proud that we're able to do that in such an exciting way.'
