Tower Hamlets sent off its bid for city status last week, in the shadows of the Tower of London.
The mayor, Lutfur Rahman, was joined by school children, a Beefeater, young mayor of Tower Hamlets, and Howard Dawber, from Canary Wharf Group, at the historic location, to celebrate the bid submission.
