More than 100 GMB members who work as housing caretakers and sheltered housing managers at Hammersmith & Fulham LBC have voted for strike action. The council workers voted unanimously last week to take strike action if talks between the union and council subsidiary, H&F Homes, over pay and accommodation were to fail. Cabinet member for housing, Cllr Adronie Alford, said it cost the council £500,000 a year to house the caretakers and housing managers, which ‘adds very little in terms of service delivery'.
