The Institute of Advanced Motorists warns that many roads are likely to become hazardous during the winter.

The Institute of Advanced Motorists is warning that many roads are likely to become hazardous because of a combination of severe frosts and council cuts to winter road services.

The Department for Communities and Local Government has estimated that budgets for road salting, the use of snow ploughs and emergency arrangements have been cut by an average of 3.6%. IMA's chief executive, Simon Best, said: ‘It is even more important that drivers take care.'
