This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role supporting Cardiff Council's Leader and her Cabinet in the delivery of an ambitious political vision. As an advisor to the Leader, you will report directly to the Chief Executive as you work creatively across boundaries and sectors to shape the policy that will secure the best possible outcomes for Cardiff, the Capital City of Wales. Your role will also be to make sure services are improving across the board through rigorous performance management.

As well as having responsibility for the management of Cabinet business, and the part it plays in open and transparent decision making, you will also lead the Council's Communications and Media team as they deliver an innovative and fast-paced strategy.

We want the right people with the managerial capacity and fresh perspectives to support a new political leadership. You will be part of a newly appointed senior management team in a leading regional organisation with a £1 billion turnover and 18,000 employees delivering over 700 individual services.
