Head of Communications

Are you an ambitious communications professional looking for a new challenge in 2014?

Catch the wave in Adur and Worthing

Are you an ambitious communications professional looking for a new challenge in 2014? Adur and Worthing Councils took the innovative step of merging services and management six years ago. We are now on the crest of the next wave of change and are looking for a new Head of Communications.

What’s in it for you?

This is a brand new post working directly to the Chief Executive and with a newly recruited team of corporate directors and two highly supportive Council leaders. You’ll lead a small team and have close links to the emerging policy function. There is ambition for and commitment to good communications. It’s a place to make your mark as an outstanding public relations professional.

What’s in it for us?

The Councils and the places they serve are changing. We want someone who can help us engage our communities, communicate our ambitions for growth and prosperity to the outside world and inspire our staff to deliver on our promises.

What are we looking for?

We need an enthusiastic and creative person with a track record of delivering communications with impact. You will have excellent leadership and management skills and the ability to build relationships inside and outside the organisation.

You’ll have experience across the communications mix with a particular emphasis on digital media and social marketing. Public sector experience is not essential but you must be a credible communications adviser who is politically savvy and able to work on complex and sensitive issues with confidence.

What are you waiting for?

The deadline for applications is 5pm, 21st February 2014.
