Your Future Starts Here.Salary: £66,728 - £72,521. We know public services will look very different in the future. This will require innovative approaches to respond to need, and at far less cost. But the needs of local residents and local communities are here and now. There are acute pressures, particularly in a large urban environment with sharp inequalities. How do we square this? In Walsall we believe part of the answer lies in giving local people more of a say in matters that affect their neighbourhood – and in helping to develop a flourishing third sector. This is where you come in. A champion for localism, you'll make sure there is effective community engagement to resolve local problems and shape the delivery of public services. You will lead our area partnerships, offering a track record of strong partnership working in localities to tackle key issues of health, public safety and worklessness. And you will provide strategic leadership to a range of key front line services which focus on protecting the public. Familiar with the challenges facing a large urban community, you must be able to lead change in complex organisations. You will demonstrate the skills, experience and credibility to inspire confi dence in the local community and in colleagues, politicians and partner organisations. This is a terrific opportunity to help change the way we work with local communities and deliver positive, lasting results. Closing date for applications: Thursday 14 August 2014 at 4.00pm.
