There are few more complex or visible areas of any council's work than corporate parenting. In bringing fostering, adoption and looked-after children's provision together in one integrated service, we have made a commitment to delivering the very highest levels of support.

This exceptional opportunity will suit an experienced senior manager, completely immersed in corporate parenting, from either a looked-after children or fostering & adoption background. We want someone capable of managing our whole provision in this area – so if you're wondering whether any given aspect is included, the answer's probably yes.

You need significant experience of providing social work services to children in care, a deep understanding of family placement, and an uncompromising focus on the child. Demonstrable success in workforce and organisational development will be key, and it's vital that you have experience of managing change and developing services to improve outcomes.

Credible with colleagues, elected members, and professional partners, you'll set exemplary standards of social work practice and lead the service to deliver placements of the highest quality.
