WORKFORCE

Head of Housing Services, Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames

Our vision is that Kingston has a national reputation as the best place to live and work. As Head of Housing Services you will make a major contribution to the realisation of this vision. In Kingston we need more homes to buy and rent, but we also need more affordable homes whilst addressing pockets of deprivation in the Borough. At the same time, the coalition government's social housing and welfare reform agenda is the most significant and far reaching for a generation.

Against this backdrop, you will lead the transformation of our housing service, driving a step change in culture, organisation and governance so that we are best placed to operate on the front foot, delivering the objectives of our recently adopted housing strategy and taking a leading role in the housing reform agenda through our Better Homes programme. We want people in Kingston to be proud of where they live. You and your team can make this happen.

Reporting to the Director of Place and taking full ownership for the design and delivery of our housing service change management programme, you will develop and lead a housing service that is better skilled, more tenant and customer focused and uses its resources more effectively and efficiently. Building on our strengths and addressing service weaknesses you will develop a culture of excellence that fully recognises and acts on the views of local people and communities. Embracing the importance of outstanding leadership you will build, inspire and motivate a team that delivers outstanding performance outcomes and is committed to ongoing service improvement.

To succeed in this role, you will be an outstanding housing professional and member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, with a background in either a local authority or registered provider housing service. You will possess experience of delivering large scale change that improves housing service outcomes and a track record of leading teams to positions of customer service excellence.

For further information, please contact our retained consultants Mark Bearn or Andrew Timlin of Hays Executive. T 020 7259 8743 / Email here or visit our recruitment website here.
