Head of Learning and Achievement - Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council

Head of Learning and Achievement - Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council

Local government is changing fast, and services have to continually adapt and develop to deliver better outcomes for our communities. In Redcar and Cleveland, having this year attained our best examination results yet and building upon recent year-on-year improvements, we are determined to continue to successfully support the schools in our Borough to help them achieve not only the highest levels of educational attainment, but also to ensure that all of our young people reach their maximum potential as an individual by narrowing the attainment gap across our communities.

The role of Head of Learning and Achievement reports to the Corporate Director and you will be expected to build and develop the excellent relationships with schools and strengthen existing partnerships. You will provide leadership to our highly committed teams in our Education Services promoting a culture of lifelong learning and achievement.

You will need to have exemplary leadership skills and a strong track record within school improvement at a senior level. You will bring a wealth of experience in raising standards and successful partnership working with schools and relevant organisations. You will be keen to work collaboratively with colleagues in other directorates to develop and implement strategies which will help to ensure that our young people leaving school are prepared for either work or further education.

In return we offer flexibility and would be pleased to hear from candidates who seek a permanent or a fixed term contract or, for the right individual seeking a career development opportunity, we would consider a long term secondment and/or part time working arrangement for this role.

For a confidential discussion please contact our advising Consultant, Evelyn Dougherty on 020 7932 4208.
