Head of Technical Services

With around 3,700km of roads, 3,400km of footways, hundreds of bridges and more than 80,000 street lights and lit signs in County Durham, there is no denying the challenges we face when it comes to offering a great service to our communities. Reporting up to the Corporate Director for Neighbourhood Services, our new Head of Technical Services will have a huge remit and responsibility, but they will also have the scope to innovate and develop services.

Covering operational and strategic highways and transportation as well as design services, the service is currently performing well. Candidates do not need to be qualified engineers, but they will need a good understanding and experience of these service areas, excellent partnership skills, a ‘can do' and creative approach, and superb people management skills.

It is a great opportunity at an exciting time, so for more information please see our website or talk to our advising consultants Jim Banks (0113 205 6074) or Luke Judd (0113 205 6077).

Closing date: 21 December 2011.
