Ian Hughes has been appointed programme director for the LGA's new European and International Unit. The unit, which came into operation last month (January), is part of an LGA shake-up aimed at mainstreaming international work into the association. Mr Hughes is currently deputy director at the Government Office for London, and will take up his new post in March.
