Health chiefs have told ministers that NHS transformation can only be achieved with local government at a local level.

In its response to the Government's pledge for a transformation fund NHS Confederation chief executive Rob Webster said: ‘We have been calling for a transformation fund to be applied to the NHS for some time to supplement the funding that is needed to stabilise the health service's position.
