Herefordshire Council secured a 98.4% rate of council tax collection in the last financial year. This equates to a total figure of £76.6M, and compares with the figure of 97.7% for the previous year and with the average for unitary councils of 96.6%. The council has also improved its collection of business rates to 98.9% compared with 97.4% the previous year and the unitary council average of 98.8%. More than £37M in business rates was collected last year.
