Bedford BC announced this week that Chris Hilliard – the authority's executive director for children's services, schools and families – would leave the council at the end of May.
Chief executive, Philip Simpkins, said Mr Hilliard had ‘worked diligently to raise standards of performance across the directorate', and ‘made a very significant contribution to the council's modernisation programme'.
