Hillingdon LBC was at the High Court last week to present its case against government rules for funding asylum-seekers. The council claims that the Government acted unlawfully in changing the funding rules for unaccompanied asylum-seekers and that Hillingdon should be given more money. ‘By not fully funding us, the Government is passing the financial burden on to local taxpayers and not allowing us to do our job properly,' said council leader, Ray Puddifoot. The judge reserved his decision until a later date.
