The London borough where a longstanding row between the leader and chief executive ended in the latter's departure has now confirmed a successor. Hillingdon LBC has appointed its acting chief executive Hugh Dunnachie to the permanent post. A former head of social services, he began his career as a social worker and was later housing and social services director at Luton Council before joining Hillingdon in 2003. His predecessor Dorian Leatham was involved in an acrimonious dispute with leader Ray Puddifoot over the terms of his departure in April this year.
