HMRC bosses fail to win fans in poll

Tax officials express concern about the management of Revenue and Customs, and voiced unhappiness with their wages and conditions.

Tax officials have expressed concern over the management of Revenue and Customs (HMRC), and voiced unhappiness with their wages and conditions in the service's annual staff survey.

Only 18% of some 38,416 staff polled – representing 52% of the workforce – felt the organisation was managed well, while a mere 17% had confidence in decisions taken by senior HMRC management. And just 13% believed changes usually led to improvements.
