Councils and housing associations are being called on to work together to boost affordable housing supply during the credit crunch. In a joint statement from the Housing Corporation and the Local Government Association, the two bodies called on local government and housing associations to pull together to meet housing demand. Housing Corporation chief executive, Steve Douglas, said: ‘More than ever, we will need to work together to adapt to the current environment and be willing to flex current models.'
