Spare a thought for those poor councillors and officials at Surrey CC, who were all poised and waiting to go into their latest full council meeting last week, when the wheels of democracy were abruptly halted by a fire alarm.
It was all out into the car parks while the fire brigade's finest investigated the cause of the concerns.
