Here’s the dilemma: over the coming years local authorities will be cutting back on services, in some cases, dramatically whilst at the same time, there will be no reduction in the cost of council tax (yes, it’s frozen at the moment, but it’s likely to go up).
In other words, council taxpayers are going to be getting less for more. It’s a recipe for dissatisfaction and increasing agitation.
