Hull 'blows' £5m to secure offshore wind farm project

Hull has pledged £5m to secure a deal between Siemens and Associated British Ports to build an offshore wind turbine plant.

Hull City Council has pledged £5m to secure a deal between Siemens and Associated British Ports (ABP) to build an £80m offshore wind turbine plant.

The council's cabinet member for employment and regeneration, Cllr Steven Bayes, said all parties were hoping that the deal would be signed by the end of the month and could create between 1,500 and 2,000 jobs in the region.
