BBC TV newscaster Huw Edwards is to host The MJ's Local Government Achievement Awards gala night on 26 June at London's Hilton Hotel, Park Lane.
Mr Edwards is known to millions of viewers as main presenter of the BBC News at Ten, to which he moved in 2003, after a period presenting the BBC News at Six. Mr Edwards joined the BBC more than 20 years ago, and has presented a wide range of programmes including Newsnight, Breakfast News and Panorama.
The closing date for entries to the awards, which have 16 categories, is next month.
