Somerset CC and Taunton Deane BC have announced that IBM is the preferred bidder to join them in setting up a joint venture partnership. The operation, which will be based in Taunton, will deliver a range of support and customer services currently being provided in-house. It will also enable the delivery of efficiency savings for both councils, which will allow better investment in frontline services. A key aim is to significantly improve the way the public can access and receive council services.
