US billionaire, Donald Trump, has denied claims he tried to bully Aberdeenshire Council over his plans for a massive golf complex on Scotland's east coast. He told a national newspaper in Scotland that he was not a bully but an environmentalist. He reportedly said: ‘We are not bullying anybody. We haven't done anything other than demand a fair hearing.' Mr Trump also claimed Cllr Martin Ford, chairman of the planning committee who used his casting vote to reject Mr Trump's £1bn plans for a golf development, had a history of being less than environmentally sound. He said: ‘I have received every environmental award there is, and then I read about Mr Ford wanting windmills with roadways going through SSSI territory.' His outburst followed comments from Cllr Ford that Mr Trump had refused to compromise on his plans and wanted planning permission or he would pull out.
