Local government staff will soon be able to join the six million-strong government workforce in posting suggestions for improving public services and driving efficiency to a permanent online ‘ideas box'.

In an interview with The MJ, Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude, who will co-ordinate the Tell Us How scheme, said initial responses had so far been ‘very enthusiastic'.
