Inconsistencies hit 'open data' ambition

NAO has reported the Government's commitment to 'open data' has been stymied across local government.

The Government's commitment to ‘open data' has been stymied across local government by inconsistencies in the amount, scope and completeness of online information, the National Audit Office (NAO) has reported.

An NAO study, published on 18 April, revealed that Whitehall departments had, by last December, met 23 out of 25 targets for open data – linking 7,865 data sets to the government portal data.gov.uk.
