There is growing awareness of the importance of a child's first few years in determining how their life pans out.
Given the right support in those early years, children are far more likely to develop into healthy, happy contributors to local communities and the economy. Denied that support, their lives are significantly more likely to be blighted by poor health, low attainment levels, anti-social behaviour, and crime.
