Up for inspection The Social Work Inspection Agency is to visit Argyll and Bute Council early next year, after the authority admitted expenditure on social work services exceeded funds from the Scottish Executive by £1.7m. The council has come up with an extra £700,000 to cover the executive’s flagship policy of free care for the elderly, but denies this is made up of transferred funding from the NHS.
