Housing minister, John Healey, has announced a new timetable for the introduction of the CLG's planning regime for major infrastructure projects. The Infrastructure Planning Commission (IPC) will begin operating in October, and will accept applications from the energy and transport sectors from March 2010. The minister is predicting savings of up to £300m as a result of the overhaul.
