North Lincolnshire Council has welcomed packaging company Can Pack UK's announcement of £60m investment in Scunthorpe, and the creation of 310 new jobs. The Polish company will build its first western European plant in Scunthorpe, and has been working with the council and the regional development agency, Yorkshire Forward, to ensure the project came to the region. ‘This investment will bring jobs to the area,' said council leader Mark Kirk. ‘And it will boost our local economy.'
