Unison has warned cuts in police support staff numbers and failed outsourcing arrangements are ‘seriously flawed' and could lead to soaring crime rates.
Commenting on HM Inspectorate of Constabulary's Adapting to austerity report, the union warned plans to cut police civilian staff by 16,000 by 2014 would hit women, who make up 65% of police staff, disproportionately.
