The General Social Care Council, which regulates the social work profession, has launched its search to find a chief executive and three directors. The GSCC is offering up to £150,000 for its next chief executive ‘to help rebuild the organisation', following criticisms over its backlog of uninvestigated referrals and the consequent departure of its former chief. The council says it intends to ‘transform its conduct function' as a result. It is also looking for three directors on £90,000 each to head corporate resources, strategy and social work education and regulatory operations.
