Magistrates will be eligible to stand as candidates in this November's police and crime commissioner (PCC) elections, a senior judge has confirmed.

Lord Justice Golding, the senior presiding judge in England and Wales, reversed his earlier ruling that magistrates would be forced to resign as JPs as soon as they put themselves forward for the 15 November elections.
