Two massive redevelopment schemes in the heart of London's Elephant and Castle have been given the green light by Southwark LBC. Multiplex, in a joint venture with Espalier, will construct a 42-storey block of flats, and Oakmayne Properties will build a development with a hotel, cinema, homes and restaurants. Southwark's deputy leader, Catherine Bowman, said: ‘This is an exciting time for the regeneration of Elephant and Castle. Eighty per cent of our residents want this area to change for the better.'
