Two director generals (DGs) have been named in the shake-up of top tier management at the Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG).
Under the new streamlined system headed up by permanent secretary Sir Bob Kerslake David Prout will take over as DG for ‘localism' – managing local government, communities, Big Society and fire and rescue policy portfolios. Richard McCarthy is the new DG for ‘neighbourhoods' – overseeing housing, regeneration and planning.
