Construction giant Kier has announced a 23.2% leap in pre-tax profits in its interim results for the six months to 31 December 2007. The group said they had strong order books for their construction and support services divisions. ‘We have experienced teams in place in all of our businesses, a strong balance sheet and good cash resources and, in the absence of any significant market setbacks, we are firmly on track for growth this year,' said chief executive John Dodds.
