Construction giant Kier has predicted its full year profits will be better than last year’s, and ‘at the higher end of market expectations’. The company plans to release its preliminary results for the year leading to June 2006 in September, but a statement said ‘the group is in good shape’. Local government contracts are doing well and the statement added: ‘We continue to see further opportunities emerging from this market and are well placed to take advantage of these as they arise.’
