Housing minister Grant Shapps' U-turn on two-year tenancies for social housing residents has been attacked as ‘unclear' by Labour opponents, who have called for urgent amendments to the Localism Bill designed to reassure a sceptical public.
In a letter sent to Mr Shapps on 29 July, shadow housing minister, Alison Seabeck, calls on the minister to account for a U-turn seemingly announced during parliamentary recess.
