More than a year since Labour came into power, as party members and politicians from all regions of the country prepare to return to Liverpool for this year's annual conference, this moment is an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the past year, and look forward to our ambitious plans for the future.

When Labour came to power in July 2024, one of its key ambitions was to transform local government – devolving power, fixing public services, delivering housing, and resetting the central-local government relationship.
