Construction group Laing has announced a restructuring of its public sector divisions. The company has merged its two infrastructure arms to mirror the changes in the way specialist public sector projects are being procured. Laing is also set to sell its train operating division to focus on 55 public sector construction projects. To support the change, Chris Waples has been appointed operations director from Amey plc, where he was director of public and private sectors. A company statement said: ‘The current structure is no longer appropriate, given the globalisation of the business and the changing UK market.'
