A Lancashire MP has backed plans to merge authorities across the county and create one or two unitary councils.
The MJ reported on 7 February that the Conservative group leader at Blackburn with Darwen Council, Cllr Mike Lee, is writing to communities secretary Eric Pickles, calling for the six authorities in the East of the county to be merged.
