Housing minister, Grant Shapps, has claimed the Government is already halfway to meeting its target of releasing formerly-used public land to build up to 100,000 new homes by 2015.

Mr Shapps said: ‘Government departments have taken up the ambitious challenge to release land with capacity for more than 50,000 new homes.
