Local people must have a say in the long-term future of the 2012 Olympics, a group of London councils have told a committee of MPs. The host boroughs of Greenwich, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest called for a ‘genuine partnership' with organisers on legacy issues, and firm financial commitments to ensure the Olympic Park venues are viable after the Games.
