Leader passes away

The leader of Tonbridge and Malling BC, Cllr Mark Worrall, passed away on 26 April after being admitted to hospital.

The leader of Tonbridge and Malling BC, Cllr Mark Worrall, passed away on 26 April after being admitted to hospital.

Cllr Worrall was elected to the council in 1982 and had been leader of the Conservative group since 1985. He was made an OBE for services to local government in 2008. Deputy leader, Cllr Owen Baldock, said: ‘Mark was one of those remarkable persons who always put the interests of the residents at the forefront of everything.'
